Named after Chiapas, home to magnificent Mayan ruins and one of the largest producers of cacao in all of Mexico, you'll begin on your own spectacular journey through one of the most vibrant and energetic countries in the world.

On our Cruz Learn & Travel program, you will enhance your Spanish skills while also having the time to pursue professional goals and explore Latin America.
To ensure an optimized learning experience, you will be placed with fellow learners according to your level, and you will be able to customize the level of fluency you would like to commit to.
On this Learn & Travel program, you can expect:
Group Spanish classes taught by an instructor
(2 hours each week)
Weekly conversation practice with native Spanish speakers
(1-2 hours each week)
Culturally immersive local experiences
(2-3 each month)

Known as the “cultural hub of Mexico”, the capital city is an impressive metropolis full of adventures and contrasts. Chilangos (locals) are extremely friendly, local history is abundant, food is intertwined with a cultural renaissance, and the city is home to the oldest forest in the Americas.You’ll wander south through the colonial streets of Coyoacan and San Angel where Frida Kahlo used to roam, or out of the city to explore nearby towns, pyramids, lakes and nature reserves. You’ll be staying in Condesa and Roma, a pedestrian-friendly area filled with local cafes, pop up markets, trendy bars and restaurants, art galleries, and lush green parks just right outside your door.
You will be staying in comfortable private bedrooms within 2-5 bedroom apartments or houses within walking distance from the workspace. You’ll love the great location and trendy atmosphere all around you. There may be options to upgrade to a private apartment after booking.
This program includes carefully curated programming that gives you an authentic taste of Mexico. Each program includes 2-3 locally curated experiences, country and language orientations, weekly community activities, and social events, local walking tours, skill-sharing sessions, and positive impact experiences. There are also overnight and weekend trips available at a cost. Below is a mix of some of the curated local experiences and side trips that are either included or available at a cost on your program.
