The Capo Gallo Nature Reserve is a protected coastal area located a few kilometres from Palermo, characterized by crystal-clear sea, impressive cliffs and typical Mediterranean vegetation.

It will be an opportunity to take a fun mountain bike ride and a swim in the sea, passing through places of natural and historical interest.
We will use shock-absorbed mountain bikes with assisted pedaling, leaving directly from the city.

Who Is This Experience Good For

Itinerary

Meet at the reference shop, where we will offer you breakfast and conduct a short briefing. From here we will set off in the direction of the Parco urbano della Favorita (inside the M.Pellegrino Nature Reserve), where we will begin the off-road route in the shade of the park's trees.

We will stop at some points of interest natural and historical interest, such as the centuries-old olive tree called the Patriarch of Palermo and the Palazzina Cinese, a monument in exotic style built during the Spanish reign in Sicily. We will continue on an enjoyable path that will take us to Mondello, passing through an area with dense Mediterranean vegetation and adventurous path, where you can still see goats grazing.

Once in Mondello we will ride along the seafront until we reach the entrance to the Capo Gallo Reserve, where we will we will stop for a refreshing dip in the vivid waters.

Before starting the return journey, we will make a pleasant pitstop with a delicious brioche with ice cream while admiring the view of the harbor and the northern coast of Sicily.

Sandro is a nature guide and mountain bike guide from Palermo. He is passionate about nature, knows the mountain territory very well and organizes treks for the Club Alpino Siciliano, discovering an unusual Sicily.
