Weekend Track Experiences
Every month on a Remote Year program, you have the option to opt into a Track™. A Track is a weekend experience curated by the City Team to help immerse you in the local culture or community while bonding with your fellow Remotes and Citizens.
Indigenous Escape // Saturdays
Today finds us looking as far back as first generation inhabitants, and how the Khoi-San survived off the ocean. Our host’s Billy & Ronel live in Betty’s Bay and will be showing us how to forage and prepare an edible from the shoreline.
The day includes a stop at Cape Town’s other penguin colony, and an optional afternoon hike for those up to it. Billy will have the braai going and look forward to the homemade ginger beer from Ronel! What a lekker day in South Africa!

This Side That Side // Sundays
Today we’ll see SA from more than one angle. We’ll start with a stop in Redhill, a township in the False Bay region. Experience authentic township food, iskopo and umqombothi (sheep head and traditional beer). Meet local children and learn about how they as a community are overcoming poverty.
Our second part, "That Side" is met with wine and braaing with locals . Meat over flame and always a great salad from the kitchen! We'll be taught how to make Braai Broodjie, our version of a grilled cheese on steroids.

- Choose your Program Month. If you don't see your program, it's too early for you to sign up for Tracks, come back soon!
- Choose which included Track Experience you want to attend.
- Fomo is real. If you want to attend both Tracks, no worries! Select an Extra Track of your choice at an additional cost or select "Not Interested".
- Last, confirm your spot(s) by clicking the "Confirm Track Sign Up" button.
Track Weekend occurs on the 2nd weekend after Transition Weekend unless otherwise communicated.
