We know hiking isn’t for everyone. We want to be able to provide an alternate trip for you to see a UNESCO's World Heritage site and still enjoy a unique experience! We have tested this activity with many Remote Year groups! Trust us when we know you will be having an incredible experience.

The “Huayna Picchu” or “WaynaPicchu” is the mountain that stands next to the Citadel of Machu Picchu. It is a 45 minute hike to the top. Going back down is quite steep if you are scared of heights. The cost is about $60 per person. Arrangements need to be made at least one month in advance, due to popularity. The trek to the top of the Huayna Picchu is more vertical than the Machu Picchu Mountain and will take less time. The trails of the “Machu Picchu Montaña” offer long periods of time without seeing anyone; Very different to the mountain Huayna Picchu , where you will have to wait your turn to be able to use the path. Both roads have almost the same distance (about 2 km). In any case choose the 10am option to hike them on Friday, and remember you would be doing this without your tour guide and do it only after having the confirmation that we are running the event.

Accommodations

Cusco Accommodation is not included. Most groups rent an Airbnb for the entire time to leave things and go to the hiking trip with just a backpack.
